Please note: Nero pegs are not suitable for shaping down, so the peg holes must be the correct size to accommodate.

Swiss pegs are valued for their comfortable convex shape and the fact that they are made completely from a single piece of wood (there are no attached rings, collars, or inlay).

The dimensions of these pegs are as follows:

• Shaft Length: 45 mm
• Diameter of Shaft at Collar: 7.2 or 8.2 mm, 1:30 taper
• Thickness of Head: 5.5 mm (at narrowest part)
• Overall Length: 70 mm
• Shafts are not turnable with normal peg shapers. The reamer for the pegbox must be used to create the correct peg head projection.
• These pegs are not drilled or cut and polished on the ends, so we recommend installation by a qualified luthier.

The Nero material is made in the USA from eucalyptus paper and thermosetting resins. It is pure black and mimics the finest Madagascar ebony. It is hypoallergenic and not susceptible to humidity or temperature change. The surface is impermeable to sweat and body fluids and therefore very easy to clean.
